We are finished with unit 7 in math.  The students will be taking a test on Tuesday.  We will then begin working with fractions and measurement.

We will finish up our poetry unit this week in reading.  The students have enjoyed creating their own poems, and learning about various types of poems.

In social studies the students are working on maps and grids.  They will also practice using time lines.

We will continue working on our cursive handwriting.  We will work through all the lowercase letters of the alphabet first, and then we will move into the uppercase letters.  I do not want the students to write in cursive until we are finished with all the lowercase letters because I do not want them to develop incorrect habits.  They really need to learn the correct letter formation before they begin using it routinely.

****Please keep in mind that even if we do not have school the students are still expected to have their homework complete including reading logs and spelling homework.
